Belize Meat Pie

The Belize Meat Pie is eaten all day in every part of Belize from breakfast to supper.

My recipe is the same one I used when I supplied the UK Belize Embassy with 500 pies for a function, and they were well received.

Belize Meat Pie

The Belize Meat Pie is sold all over the country eaten from breakfast to supper and very tasty

  • 1 lb Beef Mince
  • 1 tsp Sazon Tropical Seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 each Onions
  • 2 tbsp Corn Starch
  • 1 tsp Ground Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcester Sauce
  • 1 pint Beef Stock
  • 600 grm Short Crust Pastry
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  1. fry onions with salt and sugar till brown, add beef and brown add rest of ingredients, with 1 pint cold water mix in cornstarch to make a thin gravy and add to mix simmer to thicken. using 2 muffin tins make up 24 pies put a tablespoon of filling and top up with the stock needs to be nice and juicy, cook for 30 mins at 180/200.
